Hour House is looking for a full-time and/or part-time Cook(s).
This position involves being part of a dietary team cooking meals for adults participating in treatment for a substance use disorder.
The position requires the following: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and understand menus, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, public health regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively to clients when necessary.
Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instruction. Ability to problem solve when needed.
The employee must have a valid Illinois Driver's License and maintain a good driving records. The employee must possess an Illinois Food Service Sanitation Certificate.
The physical demands described of this job: The employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, taste, and smell; frequently is required to walk; use hands to find, handle, or feel objects; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; and crouch; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pound, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Other abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, hearing, and speech.
The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Experience: Commercial Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification: Food Service Safety Managers Certificate (Preferred)
