Hour House is looking to fill Full-time Cook(s) positions providing dietary services for clients living in the agency’s detoxification, residential and extended care programs.
Responsibilities:
The position involves being part of a dietary team cooking meals for adults participating in treatment for substance use disorder. Cooks prepare and serve meals following agency menus, clean the kitchen, order supplies, and receive/store supply shipments.
The physical demands of this job include the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, taste and smell, frequently is required to walk, use hands to find, handle or feel objects, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch, regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Other abilities required of this job include close and distance vision, hearing and speech. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, 21 years of age and a current Illinois driver’s license are required. Candidates holding license in food service sanitation preferred, those with employment experience cooking and willingness to acquire license are welcome to apply. Candidates must be able to pass all background checks. Available shifts include days, evenings, and weekends.
