Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Detoxification Program

Hour House in Charleston, IL, is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our medical team in the medically monitored detoxification program for adults recovering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD). 


The EMT will provide medical support during the detoxification and early recovery process, ensuring client safety and assisting in the prevention or treatment of medical complications. We are looking for a compassionate professional who demonstrates a non-judgmental attitude and a commitment to providing consistent, respectful care to individuals working toward recovery. 


This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM, with every other weekend required as part of the regular schedule. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Monitor vital signs and document findings.
  • Administer urine drug tests and medical screenings.
  • Αδμινιστερ υρινε δρυγ τεστσ ανδ μεδιχαλ σχρεενινγσ. 
  • Dispense medications as ordered. 
  • Assist with client admissions to the detoxification program. 
  • Consult with the Medical Director and Healthcare Coordinator regarding presenting or emerging medical issues. 
  • Support clients with professionalism, kindness, and consistency during detoxification and withdrawal processes. 


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current EMT certification required.
  • Experience in medical or behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, non-judgmental care to individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend.


Pay: From $19.00 per hour
