Equine Therapist

Hour House in Lerna, IL is seeking an individual experienced in Equine therapy to provide services to those with Substance Use Disorder. This position at the agency can be part-time if candidate desires to work part time. If hired full time will also serve as substance abuse treatment therapist. 

Position available: August 1st, 2022

Responsibilities

The Equine Instructor will provide equine therapy services to Hour House clients in both individual and group settings using horses in ground work. They will also have primary responsibility for the horses and supervise the equine assistants.

Candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for work as a counseling therapist in our Women’s Residential treatment program with a caseload, providing both individual and group therapy. 

Qualifications

Masters degree preferred. Equine Therapy Certification preferred. Candidates without certification but experience in animal assisted therapy considered. Must have computer skills, valid drivers license, be able to pass all background checks, and be at least 21 years of age.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Education:  High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:  Equine Therapists, 1 year (Preferred) 

License/Certification:  Driver's License (Required)
