SUD Residential Treatment Counselor

Hour House in Charleston, IL is seeking to hire Substance Use Disorder Residential Treatment Counselor.  


The Counselor will provide individual, group, and family counseling to adults in early recovery from Substance Use Disorder in our residential and/or halfway house programs.


Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology required. Masters preferred. We will consider applicants with a minimum of 3 years of continuous sobriety and a year of social service experience. This position may require working evenings and a weekend day each week. The counselor will work as a part of a team with other clinicians and have ample opportunity for consultation and supervision. Documentation is accomplished by electronic medical records. 

Candidates must be able to pass all background checks and have a valid driver's license. 


Responsibilities:  Counselor will provide assessment and treatment in individual, group and family counseling sessions to adults and their families in recovery from Substance Use Disorder. Counselors are responsible for documentation in our electronic health record. They are responsible to work with referral sources and insurance companies on behalf of their caseload. Counselors are provided group and individual consultation and supervision by fellow team members and the Men's Residential Program Coordinator.


Our compensation is good and benefits are excellent. Tuition waivers for graduate classes at EIU are often available.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $44,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
