Hour House is seeking to fill 1 (up to 2) Women's Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor position to work in our specialized treatment program for women with Substance Use Disorder and their children. Most of the women are survivors of physical or sexual abuse or other serious trauma.
Responsibilities
The counselor will conduct assessments, provide counseling, facilitate educational and therapy groups and meet with family members who are willing to be supportive of the client. They will also help to manage and supervise the milieu and provide case management as needed to assist clients to cope with court dates, medical problems, continue their education or find employment and plan for successful discharge. Complete, accurate documentation is required in the Electronic Medical Record on a daily basis.
The positions will include work on one weekend day and one or two evenings, per week.
We work as a team. There is support and consultation readily available, and many opportunities to learn and grow as a professional. Counselors will work with women in halfway, recovery home and outpatient services.
Qualifications and Skills
We would like to hire counselors who bring a variety of skills, experience and education. Persons with 3-5 years of continuous drug free recovery, and a BA/BS or MA/MS in Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation or Social Work.
Candidates must also be able to pass all background checks and have a valid driver’s license.
Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor is required 2 years post hire.
