Hour House in Charleston, IL, is seeking to hire a BASE Recovery Navigator, this position will work as a team member in the delivery of evidence-based curriculum to Jr High and High School age at-risk youth in Coles and Douglas counties. They will also provide a series of 3 evidence-based intervention sessions and or workshops to youth who have begun substance use.
Responsibilities and Duties
Teaching, rapport building, communication with affiliated support personnel in schools and social service agencies, coalition building, community contacts, and planning.
Qualifications and Skills
Recovery Navigators must be in personal recovery for a Substance Use Disorder and stabilized for a minimum of 2 years. Those hired must have a willingness to share their personal history of substance use disorder and recovery. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a team member, the ability to provide classroom instruction, a professional demeanor, a valid driver’s license, and strong people skills.
Candidates must pass all background checks and hold a valid driver’s license. After one year of service, mentors must obtain certification as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist. People with a criminal background are encouraged to apply.
