Drug Court Recovery Navigator

Hour House in Charleston, IL, is seeking to hire a Drug Court Recovery Navigator, this position draws upon their personal recovery experience to carry the message of hope and recovery and facilitate empowerment by providing outreach, encouragement, linkage to resources, and recovery coaching to participants seeking recovery from substance use.


Responsibilities and Duties

Drug Court Recovery Navigators are individuals in recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) who work at the Hour House and within the Coles County Jail with those in recovery from SUD. The ability to work with clients who have SUD and share your experience is important. This individual will work with current drug court clients and potential drug court clients within the legal system. This will include assessing clients need for care, coordinating with outside community resources, other treatment teams, and assistance with appointments.

Recovery Navigators will complete documentation, track hours to compile state reports, acquire information about community groups, and outside community resources that will be beneficial to clients. Navigators will work to build relationships with clients while assisting and coaching clients in identifying their interests and goals while navigating their recovery process.


Qualifications and Skills

Recovery Navigators must have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of uninterrupted recovery from a substance use disorder, be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and be able to pass all background checks. Additional competencies needed are reading skills, computer skills, people skills, dependability, trustworthiness, and self-motivation to excel. Work will be hybrid with a combination of work from home, community-based work, and office hours.

Certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) is required within one year of employment.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
