Hour House is seeking to fill a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor position for our outpatient, residential and extended care services. The counselor will provide counseling direct services to adults in early recovery from substance use disorder in our residential, halfway, recovery home, or outpatient programs.
Responsibilities
The SUD Counselor will provide assessment and treatment in individual, group, and family counseling sessions to adults and their families in recovery from substance use disorder. Counselors are responsible for documentation in our electronic health record. They are also responsible to work with referral sources and insurance companies on behalf of their caseload. Counselors are provided group and individual consultation and supervision by fellow team members and the Program Coordinator.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology required. Masters degree with experience in SUD care preferred. Consideration will also be given to applicants with a minimum of 3 years of continuous sobriety and a year of social service experience. SUD Counselors are required to work some weekday evenings and/or weekend days. Counselors are eligible to request to work a 4-day/ 10 hour per day work week. Documentation is accomplished by electronic medical records, therefore keyboarding and computer skills are required. Candidates must also be able to pass all background checks and have a valid driver’s license.
